Tongues

Well, it happened. And the Spirit sure doesn't hold back either!

Yesterday I watched all ten of the "Finger of God" videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkxF8eHePzs), which were quite inspirational. They also were a wonderful reminder that God is still working amazing miracles today. And that God moves in the ways He chooses, that He loves to bless us even when we don't deserve or need it.

So the videos got me thinking about going out and praying for people, for healings and for the supernatural to happen in their lives. So I started praying and hungering for more faith. Even Nazareth, the unbelieving town (hometown of Jesus) still saw miracles.

Interestingly enough, the guy who sent me the link to the videos and I had talked about going out to do this sometime; he also accompanied me to church this morning. But prior to that I got up this morning and was filled with joy, excited about life. I posted Mark 16:16-18 "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." on facebook.

Less than 2 minutes later, the guy who I was about to pick up for church wrote "I got a feeling God's going to do something awesome today!" Sure enough, God did. We got to church safely and went into a room to pray before the service. I had taken my boots off because I felt God saying I was walking on Holy Ground. I opened to Psalm 61 and began reading (I had the song "Praise the name of Jesus" stuck in my head and this was a very fitting psalm) My prayers definitely were Spirit led and I did sing that song at one point, as well as start jumping. Then, as time passed I ended up kneeling on the floor. Then it happened, I was producing sounds I did not recognize but in some coherent sense. With some rhythm. Then a tune came behind it...I was singing in tongues! This continued well after the service started; everyone else left the room to go join the service but I stayed to continue worshiping, as tongues are not a sign for believers but rather among believers they are for God's glory. (And a sign to unbelievers, though none were present in that room). This continued until 11:15 until I rejoined the service at the break. (Prayer started at 10; the other guys left around 10:30... The Spirit was really working!)

Post service I was standing by at the front for anyone who needed prayer. A friend came up to talk at first and then several of us prayed for him. Then he asked if any of us would like prayer. I said we all could use some, so they started praying for me and prophesying. There was mention of a bridge I'm crossing. There was mention of me being an instrument for God to use (the image was a clarinet specifically). This was seen as a 2d image/mural and it related to what was in the next sentence. There was the analogy that I'm like a shortcut/link on a computer desktop such that when people interact with me they are linked to God. I'm not God but I point them to Him. There were also words about me being a chief, like and Indian chief, and continuing in that realm, being and leading warriors for Jesus.

After all of these words we then prayed for one other guy with us, and here is the vision I received for him. I saw him coming to a divergence in a paved road. On the left was a path that I couldn't see very far down; it was enveloped/covered by a dark black cloud. The other path I also could not see down but for a different reason, because the light source it was headed toward was so bright it was blinding to look into. I then encouraged him to follow the path of light and related this to any decision he's facing and to leave behind the worldly desires that pull him down the path of darkness and to choose light.

We grabbed some lunch and went to the second service!
