As the break ended I was praying for my campus and saw the following image: There were a few people holding Bibles (this represents current Christians on our campuses working the harvest field), and they were in shackles and chains. (This did not necessarily mean that they were being held back by authorities but rather that they can only do but so much, yet they are putting forth all of their effort.) All of the sudden over a hill comes this massive group of people holding Bibles, not in chains. There was no end to the group of people and they were storming the scene. (I believe this to be the large harvest of unashamed Christians God is about to bring in.)
Last night I was at a prayer meeting on campus. We started by sharing a bit about our backgrounds, then spent some time in worship and prayer. During worship I noticed a young lady hanging out just outside the door to the room. After we prayed, we sat down to share if God had spoken anything to us. One guy was talking about God's love flooding the hallways when in walks the young lady who had been outside. She asks if we're a Gospel group and we said yes. It was awkward at first, but that left quickly as we started talking about how we ended up together. As she sat down, another gentleman there said "are you okay?" She replied, "well I hurt my ankle a few days ago and every time I've walked on it since the pain has gotten worse." I smiled and he said, "can we pray for you?" She said yes and we prayed for healing in her ankle. She got up and walked on it with no pain. She stayed and talked for a little bit as we shared and then she shared, and the whole time whenever she walked her ankle was 100% pain free! Praise God!
Later last night I was praying for my girlfriend when I got the following image: a 'hotwheels' race car coming out of an upside down loop, on fire. And I believe that she was the car and right now is at the top of the loop, so her world is upside down and she has the least momentum. But soon, she'll start out of the loop, gaining momentum and be on fire for God.
I also had this picture of a hair straightener which produced a few thoughts. As a general rule I don't think someone has to straighten their hair to look pretty, though often straighter hair is even prettier. In the same way, we are beautiful creations of God and he desires to make us even more beautiful - to straighten our hair. But we have a natural tendency to go back to the way we were before, therefore necessitating our metaphorical hair straightening once again. And the first time someone uses a hair straightener I imagine is a slow and somewhat painful process. But after doing it many times it gets easier. That doesn't mean it'll always be smooth; occasionally someone who is used to straightening hair will still get burned. In the same way even as God continues to work it will often get easier to let Him, but sometimes it is still going to hurt.
